Jazz on the Park is the flagship hostel of the Jazz Hostels chain. Since 1998, we have offered a social, relaxed and safe environment where budget travellers can meet other guests while enjoying all that New York City has to offer.

Jazz on the Park is conveniently located in the hip Upper West Side, along the northwest side of Central Park and three short blocks walk to the B & C subway lines. In addition the many shops, restaurants and bars just five minutes away, nearby attractions include The Museum of Natural History, the New York Historical Society, Cathedral of St. John the Divine (the world?s largest Gothic Cathedral), Riverside Park and Grant?s Tomb, Columbia University, and the Hungarian Pastry Shop.
Take a walk across Central Park, and you will find yourself on 5th Avenue, on the doorsteps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum, the Neue Gallery, the Jewish Museum of Art, and other major NYC landmarks.

At Jazz on the Park we can accommodate both groups and individuals in single, double, or dormitory style rooms. Shower and toilet facilities are centrally located on each floor. Small bag lockers are provided in each room for personal items, and additional coin-operated luggage lockers are located on each floor. We also offer free breakfast, linens and towels; no curfew; a sensible drinking policy; A/C in all rooms; 24-hour reception, security, and access to Internet kiosks; a tourism booth (at select times); and a friendly multi-lingual staff to help make you feel at ease.
We also best known for our funky coffee bar/TV lounge, and summer pub-crawls and BBQ parties where everyone is guaranteed to eat well and make new friends.

PLEASE NOTE that Jazz on the Park has two buildings?the first, which includes the coffee bar and main check in, is on 106 St and Central Park West. All private singles and dorms are located around the corner, on 105th Street.

Directions

Our original location along Central Park West is conveniently located in walking distance from the 103rd Street subway station. The hostel is steps away from Central Park, the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine and several blocks from Columbia University.

West 106th Street @ Central Park West, Manhattan from John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport:
Take the Air Train from the airport to the A train.
Take the 'A' train going uptown to Manhattan.
Transfer from the 'A' train to the uptown 'B' or 'C' train at Columbus Circle (59th Street) Station
Exit at 103rd Street and Central Park.
Walk north on Central Park West to 106th Street.
Turn left onto 106th Street; the hostel is the second building on the LEFT.
From La Guardia (LGA) Airport:
Take the M60 Bus to 106th Street and Broadway.
Walk 3 blocks East on 106th Street to 36 West 106th Street.
From Newark (EWR) Airport:
Take Air Train to Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station (NLIAT).
At NLIAT, take a NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak train to New York Penn Station.
From Penn Station take the C train uptown to 103rd Street and Central Park.
Walk north on Central Park West to 106th Street.
Turn left onto 106th Street; the hostel is the second building on the left.
