Located in the heart & soul of Sydney, the Funk House is a unique, upbeat hostel famous for it's friendly social atmosphere and funky murals. With only 3-4 beds per dorm you can book a room with your mates.

All our doubles and twins have TVs, fridges, fans & doonas. All dorm rooms have fans. The Funk House also has large common areas, TV room with cable and a great quiet rooftop garden area with weekly BBQ's so you can relax & sink a couple of beers while watching the sunset.

Because of our location you can walk to all of Sydney's magic including the Opera house, Sydney Harbour, Botanical gardens, the Rocks, Sydney tower, Darling Harbour & the weekend markets.

The train & bus stop is 100 meters from our doorstep giving you easy access to Sydney's best beaches. Take the challenge & learn to surf or just kick back & catch some rays.

If it's nightlife you're after then no problem. Kings Cross' best pubs & clubs are a 1 minute walk away with many of them offering our guests FREE beer vouchers.

Please note that there are special conditions for the Christmas and New Years period. There is a 14 night minimum stay. We require full payment in advance, but we will contact you when you make the booking to arrange payment and confirm the reservation. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us prior to making the reservation.

FROM THE AIRPORT

Please call when you arrive, for bookings 7 nights+ the pick up is free, for nights 3-6 the cost to you is $3 per person (the bus company charges $12; we pay the remaining $9) and for bookings 1 or 2 nights the charge is $12.
The Shuttle Bus operates between 5am and 8.30pm. If you arrive before the reception is open you can call the shuttle company direct on (02) 9661 1170 and arrange a pick up with them. If you arrive after 8.30pm you will need to arrange your own transport. There are some airport shuttle buses operating until 12am, they charge $10 per person.
Our office hours are 7am to 10pm (Mon-Sat) and 8am-8pm (Sun), if you need to check-in outside these times please call when you arrive - we have a night manager working during the night who will check you in.

FROM CENTRAL STATION

From Central Station take the train (platform 24) to KINGS CROSS (only 7mins). Turn left out of the train station, and walk along Darlinghurst road. We are 50 meters up on the left hand side.
