Via Ricasoli is the street that leads from the Duomo to the Museum dell' Accademia (Academy Gallery where is displayed the original statue of Michelangelo's David) and from here it is possible to reach any interesting venue or tourist location in Florence with a short walk.

Cheap accommodation in Florence should not compromise on comfort: the city is a busy and hectic place so it's important for us at Academy Hostels to do as much as possible to ensure our guests can get comfortable night sleep. You will find the Academy Hostels amazingly quiet for being located in the centre of Florence but at the same time, for the ones who want to enjoy Florence nightlife, you will find restaurants, bars, clubs and the best spots in town within a few minutes walking distance.
The Academy Hostels is a rather small Hostel and can welcome 24/26 guests. Our well-maintained dormitory rooms with just 3 to 6 beds (no bunk beds) make a very familiar and friendly environment.
All rooms are air-conditioned and have lockers for your valuables. Wi-Fi connection, free usage of computers in the lobby and all bed linen is provided free of charge.
Here you will find a comfortable furniture lobby with a LCD wide screen TV for the ones that want a little relaxation and to meet people from all over the world.

Directions
From the central station of Santa Maria Novella you can take a brief and pleasant stroll of 12 minutes, take the direction of the cathedral, il Duomo: the street is called Via Panzani and after a bit the street will change name to Via de?Cerretani while you just continue to walk straight. After a couple of minutes walking from the station you will see the cathedral on your right, after more 200mt you will find the street Via Ricasoli on your left, there at number 9 you will find us.
If your backpack is too heavy or your spirits are low then you can take, from the square outside the railway station of Santa Maria Novella, the bus number 14 or 23 ( both lines run every 5 minutes form 06,00 AM to 12,00 PM ). In case you prefer a Taxi, you will find the taxis stationed outside the railway station.
From Florence Airport:
There is a bus every half hour that leaves from Florence airport to Florence station. They start to go at 6am and the last one 11:30pm.
Taxis are stationed in front of the Arrivals terminal or can be called by radio taxi (Phone +39.055.4242/4390/4499/47 98). Taxi journey time from the airport to Florence city centre is about 15-20 minutes. Journey cost is calculated by the taximeter (average cost is 20/25 Euro).
