the most unique hostelling experience in Europe whilst maintaining the lowest
prices in Amsterdam.

For those who are tired of stuffy dorms, overcrowded communal areas and soulless, sterile accommodation, Lucky Lake can be a wonderful change. As well as offering several new four bed dorms, the bulk of Lucky Lake???s accommodation is make up of 20 CARAVANS(trailers) arranged to a form a fantastic hostel. These caravans are great for travelling couples looking for a few days of privacy as well as groups of two looking for a break from million bed dorms and snoring roommates.

New in 2009: nice, colorfull, wooden CABINS decorated in their own unique style!

Lucky Lake prides itself on its great location, right next to the Vinkeveense Plassen, a HUGE manmade lake where you can swim, kayak, boat, fish, sail, scuba dive and frolic to your heart's content. Lucky Lake is also a cycling and walking enthusiasts dream, with miles of bike and walking trails leading you through the gorgeous Dutch country-side. Bikes are for hire directly from the hostel, but if you are not the sporty type then Lucky Lake is also ideal for just kicking back on a hammock and taking a day out from museums and walking tours.

The price one pays for being in such an amazing location is that Lucky Lake is situated further from the city than most hostels. However travelling to and from the hostel from Amsterdam is easy. There are regular Metro???s from Amsterdam Centraal to Holendrecht (17 min) ? Lucky Lake provides a shuttle bus to and from Holendrecht Metro station (7 min) at a small cost (1 euro each way)! Thus for those who are looking for a one night stop whilst
they lose themselves in Amsterdam's nightlife, Lucky Lake may not be the most suitable choice given its proximity to the city.

In 2008 we have build a new reception, Lounge, three four-bed dorms and an outdoor kitchen. There are some food items available in the hostel shop
and there are two supermarkets in nearby Abcoude. Every morning we serve a nice and simple breakfast and you can use our internet for FREE! The staff are here for you and are always willing to provide you with any information you need regarding your holiday. Altogether this makes for a wonderfully social environment with an unbeatable atmosphere.

Families should be aware that the minimum age for our guests is 17. Our facilities are not suitable for infants or groups of more than 6 and Lucky Lake advices that we do NOT accept bookings for large groups (more than 6 people)

LUCKY LAKE IS CLOSED DURING THE WINTER MONTHS. IN 2009 LUCKY LAKE WILL BE OPEN FROM THE 3rd OF APRIL.

1. By public transport from Amsterdam Centraal Station.

Take metro number 54, direction Gein. Get out of the metro at 'Holendrecht'. Take the south ('zuid') exit. Go down the stairs and turn right. Now you will see bus-stops, a green public phone and an orange bar.

Wait next to the green public phone for our shuttle which will take you to Lucky lake in 7 minutes.

It will depart from Holendrecht to Lucky lake on the following times:

2. By public transport from Schiphol-airport

Under Schiphol-airport there is a big train-station. Take any train that stops at Amsterdam-Duivendrecht. At Duivendrecht, take metro number 50 or 54, direction Gein. Get out of the metro at 'Holendrecht'. Take the south ('zuid') exit. Go down the stairs and turn right. Now you will see bus-stops, a green public phone and an orange bar.

Wait next to the green public phone for our shuttle which will take you to Lucky lake in 7 minutes.

By Car coming from the South

Get on the A2 highway, direction Amsterdam. Take exit number 3, direction Abcoude. At the end of the exit, turn left. Follow direction 'Vinkeveense Plassen' (don't go back on the highway!) You are now driving on a road that is parallel to the Highway. At the first junction on this road, go straight, direction 'Vinkeveense Plassen'. You should now see small houses on your right side. At the next junction (immediately after these small houses), go right.

You can park on the big parking-area on your left. Lucky Lake is in front of you.

By Car coming from the North/East/West/Center of Amsterdam

Get on the A2 highway, direction Utrecht. Take exit number 3, direction Abcoude / Vinkeveense Plassen. At the end of the exit, go right. Stay on this lane, following direction 'Vinkeveense Plassen'. You are now driving on a road that is parallel to the Highway. At the first junction on this road, go straight, direction 'Vinkeveense Plassen'. You should now see small houses on your right side. At the next junction (immediately after these small houses), go right. You can park on the big parking on your left. Lucky Lake is in front of you.
